Private Lessons
During a student’s study with me, they will have private lessons where they learn method, theory and technique. They will also have 5 group lessons throughout the year where they are taught ear training, composition, ensemble work, performance techniques, composer history, and music appreciation. It is a lighter format than private lessons and I often use games or activities to teach these concepts. It is also an opportune time for students to form relationships with other piano students, practice performing, and be supportive of one another’s musical efforts.
Beginning piano students will start with a 30 minute private lesson every week and will have a 75 minute group lesson 5 times/year. Students will need an acoustic piano to practice on. Tuition for 30 minute lessons is $88.00/month and paid quarterly throughout the year. The non-refundable registration fee is $40.00. As students progress and lesson material becomes more lengthy and involved, students will need a 45 minute and eventually a 60 minute lesson. Tuition is adjusted accordingly.
Depending on a student’s readiness, they are encouraged to participate in piano recitals and other events held throughout the year.
Before piano instruction would begin, I like to meet with the student and parent(s) to get to know each other and make sure they understand the expectations and see if they are ready to begin. You can call to schedule this consultation at any time, 717.779.0099. I look forward to meeting with you!
